Success Stories: Empowering Athletes, Building Community

At the Casey Powell Lacrosse Foundation, our work is rooted in real stories of athletes, families, and communities coming together to overcome challenges. From supporting sick and injured players in the U.S. to expanding lacrosse’s reach internationally, we are proud to share the journey of those whose lives have been touched by our initiatives.

Supporting Sick and Injured
Athletes in the U.S.

We provide comprehensive support to lacrosse players and their families who are facing debilitating injuries or chronic illnesses. Our commitment goes beyond just medical assistance — we engage directly with players and families to help them feel connected and supported during their recovery journey.
  • Player Kits:
    • We deliver customized kits to athletes, filled with equipment and personal care items to help them stay connected to the game, even during their toughest times.
  • Player and Family Engagement:
    • We prioritize personal connections, offering virtual and in-person support to keep athletes and their families engaged with the lacrosse community. Whether through motivational calls, team check-ins, or online support groups, we work to ensure no one feels alone on their journey.
  • Hospital Visits:
    • Our team organizes visits from lacrosse stars, community members, and Foundation volunteers, bringing joy and encouragement to athletes in the hospital. These visits are not just about cheering up players but also about showing them that their lacrosse family stands beside them, no matter the circumstances.
  • Social Media & Digital Tools:
    • We integrate social media and digital platforms to drive engagement, rally support, and keep the lacrosse community connected. Whether it’s through online fundraising campaigns, sharing updates on social media, or creating virtual spaces for athletes to interact, we ensure that every athlete and family feels part of the larger community.

Hosting Events and Uniting Athletes for a Common Cause

Events are an integral part of our Foundation’s mission to bring athletes together for a greater purpose. By creating team events or experiences, we provide a platform for athletes to unite, share their stories, and give back to their communities.
  • Team Events:
    • From charity tournaments to team-building activities, our events bring athletes together to support each other and raise awareness for important causes. These events not only provide a sense of camaraderie but also instill a sense of responsibility and leadership within the lacrosse community.
  • Experiences with a Purpose:
    • Whether it’s a visit to a hospital, a charity game, or a service day, our events are designed to connect athletes with real-world experiences, creating a lasting impact on both participants and the communities they serve.

Growing the Game Globally

The Casey Powell Lacrosse Foundation is committed to expanding lacrosse beyond the United States, bringing the sport to new communities and creating lasting opportunities for players worldwide.
  • Education & Sport Introduction:
    • We work with local partners to introduce lacrosse to underserved regions, providing educational materials, training, and resources to teach the fundamentals of the game. Through clinics, camps, and collaborations with local organizations, we empower communities to embrace lacrosse as a lifelong sport.
  • Speed Lacrosse & Sixes:
    • Understanding that lacrosse can adapt to various environments, we are proud to introduce Speed Lacrosse and Sixes as variations of the game that are accessible and engaging for players of all ages and skill levels. These formats allow communities with limited resources or space to participate in the game and build a love for lacrosse.

Global Community:

Our international efforts are about creating a lacrosse network that transcends borders. From Latin America to Asia, we are creating opportunities for youth athletes around the world to experience the game and develop a sense of community, leadership, and empowerment.
